Second COVID Booster now available at Weis Markets

SUNBURY, Pa. (WHTM) – Weis Markets announced on Thursday, March 31 that all of its in-store pharmacies will now offer second booster doses of the Pfizer and Moderna COVID-19 vaccines to adults 50 or older and immunocompromised individuals.

“The second booster dose provides an increased level of protection for people aged 50 and over, especially those over 65. Immunocompromised individuals ages 12 and older are also eligible for the second booster,” said Rick Seipp, Vice President of Pharmacy at Weis Markets.

“This increased protection is intended to protect people and prevent serious COVID-19 infections requiring hospitalization. Our in-store pharmacy vaccination program gives customers a quick and convenient option,” Seipp added.

The second Moderna and Pfizer boosters can be given four months after the first booster dose. There is no customer charge for boosters or first rounds of COVID-19 vaccinations.
