Financial analyst believes Arsenal’s quiet January will benefit them

Financial analyst Kieran Maguire has revealed that not signing any new players in the January transfer window could be a blessing in disguise for Arsenal.

The Gunners offloaded some of the top earners like Sead Kolasinac and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

However, Mikel Arteta hasn’t added any senior players to his squad at the Emirates.

Considering that the club is fighting for a place in the top four, this decision could backfire in this second half of the season.

However, Maguire looks at the long-term benefits, and he claims that Arsenal’s inactivity in terms of income and clearing huge salaries means they will have room to do more this summer.

He told Football Insider: “Their payroll has plateaued in recent years.

“These cuts could potentially reduce the payroll by 20%. This will give them more wiggle room in the summer.

Just the opinion of Arsenal

A summer spending spree must be in store for Arsenal to avoid splashing the cash last month.

We had to do it if we wanted to finish this season in the top four, but it looks like the club are quite ready to invest in the summer.

Our current players haven’t done badly and they will hopefully do much better in this second half so that we can end the season well.
