Dustin A. van Koevering, Chief Investment Officer and Portfolio Manager at Sherrie Robert van Koevering, Northwestern Mutual Wealth Management Company, earned the CFA® Chartered Financial Analyst certification from the CFA Institute.
“As a CFA® charterholder, Dustin has distinguished himself by achieving the gold standard of the investment management profession,” said Corey D. McQuade, managing partner of Northwestern Mutual-Chicago. “His commitment to professional development is a real differentiator in his competence in comprehensive wealth planning while maintaining the highest standards of integrity,” he added.
The CFA program, administered by the CFA Institute, the global nonprofit association of investment professionals, establishes a globally recognized standard for measuring the competence and integrity of financial analysts, portfolio managers and investment advisers.
Candidate surveys indicate that preparing for the three exams typically requires at least 1,000 hours of combined study. Due to the rigor of the program, only about 1 in 5 candidates who enroll in the CFA program pass all three exams and meet the professional and ethical requirements to obtain the charter. Administered worldwide, the CFA curriculum covers ethical and professional standards, securities analysis and valuation, international financial statement analysis, quantitative methods, economics, corporate finance, management portfolio and performance measurement.
As Chief Investment Officer and Portfolio Manager, van Koevering tactically optimizes clients’ portfolios, continuously monitoring the economic backdrop and market environment to maximize their personalized and comprehensive planning.
In addition to the CFA®, van Koevering also holds the Certified Fund Specialist® and Certified Estate & Trust Specialist designations. He graduated Cum Laude from Central Michigan University with a degree in finance and marketing.
Van Koevering is a board member of Men’s Et Manus Financial and an active member of the CFA Society Chicago.
