Chillax with a new Eel RIver IPA

There’s a new addition to the Eel River Brewing Co. Hazy by Nature series, Chillax IPA.

“This excellent and juicy IPA features strata, citra and El Dorado hops and is made with organic grains and London Ale III yeast to help bring out the chronic punch,” the brewery said in a press release.

Matt Vivatson, owner of Eel River Brewing, said: “The hop layers give this IPA a unique smoothness, making it more potent than any previous additions to the Hazy by Nature series.

Chillax IPA is available in 4-packs of 16 ounces and on draft.

Financial education nonprofit wins $1,000 grant

The California Center for Financial Education announced this week that it received a $1,000 grant from the Humboldt Area Foundation and the Tom and Stephanie Perrett Community Fund. The funds will be used to support the center’s mission to promote empowerment through financial literacy. The donation allows the group to continue to provide financial education classes to residents of Humboldt and Del Norte counties.

CCFE, a non-profit program and DreamMaker Project with the Ink People Center for the Arts in Eureka and provides financial education and resources to individuals and families in the Northern California area. The center offers budgeting, credit, debt management, banking products, savings, goal setting, and more, with classes for all ages. The next group classes will be held at the Betty Kwan Chinn Day Center at 133 7th Street, Eureka on June 21 (Debt Management) and June 28 (Easy Budgeting).
